What happens after I apply for a job?

1. You receive a confirmation email
Right after submitting your application, you should get an automated email confirming that your documents have been received.

2. Your application is reviewed
The recruiter or HR team reviews your CV, motivation letter, and other details to see if your experience and profile match the role.
• This usually takes a few days to a week.
• If it’s a popular position, this step might take a bit longer.

3. You’re contacted (or not)
If there’s a match, you’ll be contacted to schedule a first interview — either online or in person.
If not, you’ll usually receive a polite rejection message. Some companies give feedback, others don’t.

4. The interview process begins
Depending on the company, this might include:
• One or more interviews (with HR, the team, or a manager)
• A skills test or assessment
• A reference check

5. You get an offer — or feedback
If everything goes well, the company will make you a job offer. If not, they’ll let you know the outcome and sometimes offer feedback to help you in future applications.

What happens when I upload my CV?

1. Your CV is securely received
Once you upload your CV (usually as a PDF or Word document), it’s saved in the company’s recruitment system or applicant tracking system (ATS). It’s not shared outside the organization.

2. It’s scanned (sometimes automatically)
Many companies use software to scan your CV for keywords that match the job description — like skills, experience, education, or certifications. This helps them filter applicants quickly.
• Make sure your CV includes words or phrases from the job ad.
• Avoid overly creative layouts or images — they can confuse the system.

3. A recruiter or HR professional reads it
If your CV passes the initial scan (or if the company doesn’t use scanning software), it will be reviewed by a real person. They’ll look for:
• Relevant experience
• Skills that match the role
• Career progression
• Clarity and professionalism

4. It helps decide your next step
Based on your CV, the recruiter decides whether to invite you for an interview, request more information, or move forward with other candidates.

What won’t happen:
* Your CV won’t be shared publicly.
* It won’t be used for anything outside the recruitment process (unless you’ve given permission).

How long does it take to receive a response?

Typical response times:
1–4 weeks: To respond.  Some responses can take longer due to a high volume of applicants or internal processes.

Urgency of the role: If the role needs to be filled quickly, you’ll likely hear back sooner.

What you can do:
Follow up: If you haven’t heard back in 10–14 days, a polite follow-up email can help show your interest.
